Your message is difficult to understand, but it sounds like you want to install an Exchange server as part of an existing domain. If that's the case, build a server, join it to your domain, then install Exchange.

So you have 2 Exchange servers (1 on DC, other on member server). quote:
i want to know how to join exchange 2003 to send external email.i want to know step by step What do you want to join ?? Sorry it's still unclear, however i'l try my best to answer question to what ever lil bit i could grasp from your comments. Do you want the second exchange server to also participate in sending emails outside along with the existing first server? - (If this is your question) - you could do this by adding the second server to the bridgehead tab on SMTP Connector (In case you do not have a SMTP Connector - you would be required to create one and add both server in it as bridgehead servers). Do you want us to explain, how to start external mail-flow from your exchange environment ?? For this you would have to create a new SMTP Connector - add a smart host / dNS (which ever suits your production needs) - add one of the server as bridgehead server on SMTP Connector (you may add both - again this depends on your needs). Mentioned below are the links on SMTP Connector. http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Configuring-SMTP-Connector.html http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294736 http://www.amset.info/exchange/smtp-connector.asp

There is no update on the previous case - did we succeed / fail ?? Please stick to one question per thread. It becomes confusing for some one who reads the thread and later finds that the thread has changed course mid-way with another question.
