What I have done so far is:

I added a user into the active directory and set her up on the domain with a mailbox and email address.

From the workstation she can access all functions and programs on the domain and everthing esle works fine.

My problem consists of trying to configure Outlook on the userÆs workstation.

HereÆs what I do. I right click on the Outlook icon and choose properties. Then I choose create new user. Then it gives me options of what kind of new account I want to set up. One of the options is MS exchange server account. I select the MS exchange account and it prompts me for MS exchange server and the userÆs name. I fill in the fields with the serve name and the user name. I click check name and it returns that the user is not in the address list of the domain.

IÆve entered other accounts on the workstation and click check name and it has no problem finding the name.

So my question is where do I add the user into the address list?

sounds like an AD sync problem. More than one DC?

if you still have an NT4 DC, type net accounts /sync but if you are 2k all the way through it no longer works.

wait for sync to complete and you should be ok.

There is only one DC.
The server is running MS Server 2003 Small Business. With Exchange 2003 All the workstations are XP pro with Office 2003 The one workstation IÆm having problems with is running Windows 2000.

On the workstation in question I can log onto the Administer account and utilize Outlook without any errors. I can also add other existing users email accounts to Outlook on the workstation.

On your workstation, try sending an email to this user and see if that helps.

i think this 2000 box may have been upgraded from a NT workstation. If that is the case could the domain be looking in the WINNT/profiles directory for the users account?

ok, so can you create the user now?

Also try exchange FQDN rather than netbios name. Probably not going to make any difference, but while you are there!
