Has anyone come accross this problem?

When I add a new user and mailbox exchange server is not accessible over the internet. I have to restart then all is fine.

Everything was working OK about 2 weeks ago then I added an update and that is when the problems started. I do not want to uninstall the update as it was a security one.

please help

thanks

Dear PHP,

is it not available for the newley created users or for all the users ?

if it is for the new users , try to not to access the web immediately when you create the mailbox , first open the mailbox internally from outlook , so the exchange attributes for the new users like email address will appear under the user's exchange properties, then try to open OWA from internally, finally try it from external.

please let me know your situation  after you read this post.

Dear PHP,

straing this is the first time i face such problem, creating a mailbox has nothing to do with the functionality of your OWA, or accessibility from out.

you need to do more investigation on IIS and Exchange.

I have managed to find out exactly when this happens.

Once I have added all the user details there is downtime between the wizard adding the user (when the blue bar screen appears) until I click the finish button.

Unfortunately this means that when I am using remote desktop I get looged out and cannot click the finish button.

Why are you using rdp to manage your exchange server? Is it not possible to install the ESM and ADUC tools on your desktop?

I'm not in the office can I do that from outside the VPN?

It is also crashing while other wizards run.

No you would not want to open your firewall to allow these kind of tools to run outside of VPN.
I also advise not to allow RDP to Exchange server from outside without vpn.

If you can install on your pc and then vpn this should work just fine.
Be sure and use the run as command when starting these tools.

I have a laptop with darn near every tool you can think of and I just use vpn to connect when not on-site
