Using the ADUC, create a contact object for the outside account.  Then set up the forwarding for the inside account on the Exchange General tab (Delivery Options).

I am now confused as to what you are envisioning.  Please be more detailed about what you would like to have happen.

ok...i have an exchange server with domain name abc.com
all the email addresses are xxxxx@abc.com
i have OU1, OU2, OU3, OU4, OU5 within the abc.com domain.

now OU3 bought their own domain 123.com and they want to have their email addresses in abc.com domain forwarded to 123.com domain.  i understand your previous comment about creating smtp contact for each AD accounts.  but my question is if there's a way to forward an OU (accounts within the OU3) from abc.com to 123.com

hope this make sense..

Would adding 123.com as an alias to the already existing user objects solve your issue?  If you are accepting mail for both abc.com and 123.com, then users with both addresses will get mail for both with a single user object.

Also, you can make 123.com the default reply address for any or all of the users.

So, you're not actually forwarding (which is probably was confused me).

Do I understand the situation correctly now?

The way you described your environment led me to assume they were in the same AD forest and the same Exchange Organization.

True or false?

So really, this isn't any different if you wanted to forward messages to my company, correct?

If that's the case, you're back to either creating contact objects, or using IIFP to replicate the objects across your organizations.

The SMTP connector can organize your outbound traffic, but how do you envision telling Exchange/AD how to address those messages so that they can utilize the connector?

It could be that I'm brain-dead from dealing with DST all morning, but that particular phrase isn't registering.  To what are you referring?

Perhaps the fog is lifting.    Yes, you can set up a routing group connector to send all messages addressed to a particular domain to a particular smarthost.  Sorry if I confused the issue - this DST issue has drained away much of my energy and brain cells...

disregard the advanced routing.

i want to be to be able so when an email get sent to abc.com, it automatically forwards it to 123.com.  remember i don't want all but few users to have their email forwarded from abc.com to 123.com

also i need to be able to add domain 123.com on my abc.com exchange server so that when i search the global address on my abc.com domain i should see the users on 123.com as well.

thanks

As I see it, here's the situation.  Your Exchange server for abc.com needs to know what and where to forward.  If it's everything for a single account, the what is easy - you set up forwarding in ADUC.  The next part is where.  Where do you tell it to go?  AD only knows about its own objects.  From what I understand abc.com and 123.com have completely separate AD structures.  How are you going to populate the AD at abc.com information from the AD at 123.com?

For a single entry you can do it manually, creating a contact object at abc.com for the corresponding object at 123.com.  Or, you can use a tool like Microsoft's IIFP to transfer quantities of pertinent information between the two organizations.

Are you instead planning to merge the two AD forests into a single consolidated one?
