Once, one of my users was sending an email with a huge attachment (100MB) to himself so he can dowload that file from home. Then, Exchange stopped send/receive meanwhile there was no errors in Event viewer. I had to restart Exchange and then everything worked fine. My question is: Is there any file size limit for attachments? TIA

That depends if you have set one. If you haven't then no, there isn't one but I'd suggest you do set one. Limits are set within Exchange System Manager > Global Settings > Message Delivery. Right-click Message Delivery and click properties. Click the Defaults tab to set an enterprise wide limit. You can do this per user if you wish by using Active Directory Users and Computers: Open properties on the user and then click the Exchange General tab, on there, click the Delivery Restrictions button.

Thanks for your reply. I know about setting attachment size from ESM and AD User and Computers Actually my question was regarding any PRACTICAL impact on attachment size since my Exchange crashed upon sending 100MB attachment. Thanks

Well it shouldn't crash. It might drain resources when being transported between the different layers but it shouldn't have such an impact as to crash the server unless there's a shortage of resources such as memory and hard drive space. When an attachment is converted to BASE64, its size is usually 130% of the original attachment so you should factor this in aswell.
