Whats the best way to set up an auto responder for a public folder? I've
tried using the folder assistant from outlook however i've only been able to
get it to respond to emails sent internally? is there another way?

thanks,
JAF

This answer's not going to be of much use but will hopefully steer you in the right direction.

The functionality that youdescribe is performance as designed. It's one of those features that MS changed from 5.5 to 2K without tellin anyone (or if they did it was in 6pt somewhere buried deep in a hard to find on Technet document)

The problem is that the class of message is a posting when you put them in from outside not an IPM which you're getting internally. What you need is a script that will chnage the class of message back and there is allegedly one but I don't have the link - I'll look.

If you're after an auto-responder have you looked at Mail Essentials 8?
