Hi can anyone help me resolve this Ive read loads of guides but I still cannot get it to work!

I have several Vista machines with Outlook 2007 SP1 installed, When using the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration I get the following results:

Srv record lookup for ourdomain.com starting
Autodiscover URL redirection to https://webemail.ourdomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
Auttodiscover to https://webemail.ourdomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml starting
Autodiscover request completed with http status code 503
Autodiscover to https://webemail.ourdomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x80004005)
Srv record for outdomain.com FAILED (0x80004005)

Using the EMC command Test-OutlookWebServices | fl

In DNS I have an SRV record for ourdomain.com _tcp _autodiscover pointing to webemail.ourdomain.com on port 443

In IIS there is a default website which has Autodisover and EWS on it but also a webemail.ourdomain.com site which is used to access OWA. There is a certificate for webemail.ourdomain.com

If I browse to https://webemail.ourdomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml I get 600  Invalid Request

What I dont understand is surley Autodiscover is on the default website and not on webemail.ourdomain.com website then this is wrong?

Can anyone please advise me as to how to resolve this, currently no OOF, Free busy etc work with outlook 2007 clients.

Many Thanks

Marcus

Why'd you separate your websites if you're using the SRV record for Autodiscover?  You'd only separate the websites if you wanted to use your webmail.domain.com certificate for things like OWA, OOF, OAB, Etc. and then autodiscover.domain.com has its own website with its autodiscover.domain.com website.

Get things all back on the default website, use the webmail.domain.com certificate and then the SRV should work.  Or get everything back on the default website and use a SAN cert with the autodiscover.domain.com certificate in there.

You'll want to look at the following commands:
Remove-OWAVirtualDirectory:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998237(EXCHG.80).aspx
New-OWAVirtualDirectory
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123752(EXCHG.80).aspx

There's also, OABVirtualDirectory, WebServicesVirtualDirectory (OOF/FreeBusy), etc.

Elan,

Thanks for a quick reply, after closer inspection it appears the IIS website that has webemail.ourdomain.com does nothing and Ive turned it off :0

So it would mean that everything is running ont he default website! just doesnt work

Regards

Marcus

Do a Get-Exchangecertificate.  Post the output of services the certificate is enabled for.  Do you see anything in event logs?

Do you have a webemail.ourdomain.com DNS Zone on both the internet and internally (Split DNS)?

strangely enough on using that command it lists 14 different Thumbprnits with different services!

Clean that up!  You should only see one webemail.ourdomain.com and one NetBIOS (self-signed cert).  You don't even really need the self-signed cert, but I always keep it since the PKI cert will always be chosen first.

Make sure when you set all your services, both InternalURL and ExternalURL get set to your webemail.ourdomain.com.

You can check out this post here:
http://forums.msexchange.org/m_1800490063/mpage_1/tm.htm

I walk through the process of setting up the Autodiscover and its' services.
