Make sure the Mailbox permissions have been correctly set via AD Users and Computers, Account Properties, Exch Advanced, Mailbox Rights. It may be just a delay while AD restores rights straight after a restore.

Hello, We are new to sbs2003 and exchange. We are having the same issue with opening most old emails.
MESSAGE IS:
"CanĘt open this item. Could not complete the operation because the service provider does not support it."
Does anyone have a solution?

Looks like it the way you restored the databases. do not set the option to mount the DB 's on restore.
ensure that DB's are set to be overwritten by restore then dismount store. delete all files in mdbdata folder then rerun the restore
Try to mount DB - run consistency check All messages should be accessible..

hello, i'm having quite the same problem. Recently our Raid disks went down and so did the .edb database. I repaired the database using the eseutil utility but some mails that were sent right at the time of the crash are unavailable. I guess the logs weren't integrated in the .edb file but the indexes were created... So people have mail they can't neither view nor delete. I tried deleting them directly from the server but it says that the file is unavailable or missing. What can I do to flush those files?
thanks!

In response to krapaud: You will need to run an ISINTEG -FIX against the database. This will clear up the pointers in the tables that are pointing to messages that no longer exist because ESEUTIL /P was run and the corrupt pages in the database contained these messages.
To rabih: An ISINTEG -FIX may also correct your problem but I am not positive.
