Hi. I have a brand new install of Exchange 2007 on a Win2003 R2x64 SP2 Server, and outlook 2003sp2 clients. I got a SSL cert installed, OWA works fine, Outlook Anywhere, and Activesync are all working. Sending/Receiving email is all working fine. My problem is that when I setup the outlook 2003 client with the exchange account , I can access my own email and contacts, but cannot open shared contacts or calendars. I'm logged into the exchange administrator account in outlook. The GAL seems to be working correctly, if I am in outlook and click on "open a shared calendar..." then I click the Name box, and the list of mailboxes shows up. I click on a name, and immediately get the following error in outlook: "Unable to display the folder. The information store could not be opened". Same error if I try to add shared contacts. If I login to OWA as administrator, and then go to https://mail.company.com/owa/user@company.com I can get into their calander and contacts and everything, it just wont' work in Outlook 2003. I know this must be some simple setting, but i can't seem to figure it out. Exchange 2007 is setup to work with Outlook 2003 clients. OAB works fine, event viewer on the client machine confirms that the OAB downloads fine. Another issue, probably related. If I'm in the GAL and right click on a mailbox and choose "add to contacts" it immediately says "Some names could not be added to Contacts. The action could not be completed". Connection Status in outlook2003 is fine, I'm connected TCP/IP to mail and directory. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

CAUSE This problem occurs if you have not restarted Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002, or reopened MSN, after the person who owns the shared calendar gave you permission to access the shared calendar. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, you must re-start Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002, or reopen MSN. It is said by some of the Ms articles

This isn't the issue... I've restarted outlook 2003, even completely uninstalled office and installed a fresh copy. The permissions on the mailboxes allow for owner priveleges for the administrator (although administrator should be able to open anyone's calander, right?). I've tried creating new mailboxes, loading their account in outlook, sharing calander with owner priveleges for everyone, and then opening from another outlook account, same error message. It works fine in OWA. Thanks

Exactly same thing here. Any idea anyone ? * Brand new Exchange 2007, W2K3 server and so on. * Outlook 2K7 clients are running fine * Outlook 2K3 *were* running fine. One day, Outlook 2K3 users reported 2 problems : 1) they can't access free/busy info anymore 2) if they try to "open a shared calendar", they get the same message "Unable to display the folder. The information store could not be opened" (in french, but we don't care). => I didn' change anything to this server (the less I touch it, the better). I tried to reboot it - in case. This problem sounds like a "public folder" problem, but my public folder DB is mounted and seems good. Moreover, O2K3 users see some user's free/busy, but not for all users. Nothing that reminds me of a difference between users (all declared the same way, via automatic scripts) Any help would be appreciated Thank you

Some other tests : - I created a new account, it can't access some user's free/busy information, too, same message - O2K3 users can't access this newly created account - I used a new windows session (new profile on a computer) with an existing exchange mailbox, it does not change anything - still working strangely => so the problem is related to something in the mailboxes database, not on client side and does occur for O2K3 clients only. - I checked the public folder integrity (eseutil /g), alright. I really don't understand :( -- edit : the message I get when trying to open a shared calendar is : "unable to display the folder. The calendar folder could not be found"
