1.I can send and receive internal emails, send email to external addresses, but I can't receive external email. Is there anything I need to configure on my DNS after installing Exchange 2003? What is the line of troubleshooting?
my domain is mcat.com.my

2.My server always hangs after awhile it's up. i thought it was and virus issue.so i cleanup the network.yes there are viruses found but even after i clean up the status of the server remain the same.there are 15 pc's connected to the server.the server acts has a dhcp server and email server.doesnt it hang due to overload or other matter??? please advise on it. thanks [LIST]

this what your mx record says...

(PRI=10) shark.mcat.com.my [192.168.0.1]

which is wrong..
you cant have an internal ip address as an mx record.

Contact your isp for them to point your mx record to your firewall or exchange server

you can also check this from this address as well

http://www.checkdns.net/quickcheck.aspx

just put your domain in and it runs all test on your domain.

Have your isp see whats up with the ns2 lookup server as well.

Good luck

no this doesnt have anything to do with exchagne....so far....

i can see two MX records..one with internal address and one with the external address

remove the internal one from DNS because both keep responding..
second. Make sure the ext. ip address also has an A record that points to exchange if this is how it is setup.....is ur ext. ip your firewall or exchange server
