Hello, here is the scenario, hope someone can help.
My company has 2 sites with an exchange server at each site. (server1 and server2) Each site is its own domain. (domain1 and domain2) And of course they both have seperate public email address. (address1 and address2)

What I need to do, is drop address1, point address2 to server1, and make the 2 domains be able to talk to each other. Basically, I need to have 2 exchange servers, 2 domains, and one email address. My plan is to have each server keep its own information store and only share the global address list.

What I have so far is:
1-setup a trust so each domain trusts the other
2-point the DNS to server1
3-update the email address scheme for users
4-set up a connector on each server (not sure if I want to use Site Connector or X.400)
5-be sure to run isinteg and eseutil before doing anything!

It almost seems too easy - which is why I am posting because I am sure I am overlooking something. And I am not sure of the order to do things, or the time frame it will take on each step.

I appreciate any comments. Regards,

Sounds like you've got some solid plans. Kudos! The only tip I thought about when reading is that your time frame for an eseutil will be roughly 1 hour per 4 GB of information. So, if you have a 12 GB store, it will take 3 hours. We had our Exch 5.5 server crash about two months ago and had to do an eseutil. It took exactly 1 hour per 4 GB for us. Also, we had to use an undocumented feature of eseutil that allows you to defrag to a remote location instead of the current drive if you are low on space. I believe the syntax was /t:path&filename. be sure to map a drive instead of using a UNC.
