hi ,

sorry i was forget to paste the error which i found every time

Product:
Exchange

ID:
1036

Source:
POP3SVC

Version:
6.5.0000.0

Message:
An error occurred while starting the Microsoft Exchange name Service: server instance number value failed to start with error error code.

Explanation

This event indicates that the POP3 Virtual Server Instance could not be started because of a problem. The error code in the description,  0x2740 means  WSAEADDRINUSE.
This can occur if the IP Address that this POP3 Server is binding to is already listening on that port. If Norton Antivirus 2000 (or 2001) installed on the computer and the Norton Email Protection application process, Poproxy.exe, is running, then this would be the case.

User Action

Uninstall the POPROXY.EXE application. Merely disabling the NAV Software will not resolve the issue.

I have this same problem.  Everytime I reboot my server, the POP3 Virtual Server is stopped.  I have to manually start it, and then it seems to work alright.  I checked my event logs and I have this error in Application Log:

NOTE: I do not have POPROXY.EXE installed on my server, so this does not apply.

Type: Warning  Source: POP3SVC Event ID: 1036 Category: General

An error occurred while starting the Microsoft Exchange POP3 Service: server instance number 1 failed to start with error 0x80040a01.
