Does anyone know what the advantages are to performing an "online defrag" via Online Maintenance vs an "Offline" defrag via ESEUTIL /D?

the online defrag does not reduce the size of the databases

Offline defrag "eseutil /d" (resize)

When you run eseutil /d a new temporary database is created in your storage group. (an empty small database)
Everything in your database is then moved to the new temporary database (this is the "resize" of the database)
and than the temporary database is copied to the original database.
