hello,

I've configured the exchange server so it should allow acces to shares on a server in my network. but it doesn't work (otherwise I wouldn't post it here :)).

I've then tried adding the exchange server to the allowed servers list and this works perfectly.

Anyone knows what I've done wrong, are there some permissions I have to set up on the file server?

I get the following error message:
Outlook Web Access was unable to retrieve the requested Sharepoint document or folder. This may have occurred because of the way your Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Sharepoint servers are configured. You can try going directly to the resource by copying the link you typed and pasting it into Internet Explorer. For more information, contact technical support for your organization.

I typed the url \\srvr-file and also tried \\srvr-file.domain.tld
I don't even try to access a sharepoint server like the error says, i just want to open a shared folder.

thx for your help,
Kiekeboe100

hello,

after some more investigation I think the problem is with some security permissions.

When i try to share a network disk (a Western Digital MyBookWorld) everything works perfect. This disk isn't a member of the domain, and access is allowed to guests.

I've tried enabling the guest account on the file server, i made a share accessible to everyone but this still doesn't fix it.

I also can't find any information about this on the internet, so if someone could please help me?

thx,
Kiekeboe100

I have the same issue, not sure if you ever found a solution.

I have done some digging and noticed if I log onto the server and use http://localhost/owa I can access the shares, but if I use the external or internal URL's I get the same error as you or if I add it as a favourite from the server I then get this message "You do not have the permissions to access the requested document or folder. You may try to go to this document or folder directly by clicking on the link below "

This seems to confirm its a permissions issue but I cant see any permissions to change in Exchange manager.

Yea i agree with you guys its about security permissions.

It looks like this issue occurs after the installation of SP1. I had the opportunity to compare and I always have this issue after the installation. Only localhost is working tho. I am curious, anyone of you having problems without this installation? or no problems with SP1 installed?
I use Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 SP1 version 8.1.240.6.
