We have an exsisting exchange 5.5(SP4) installed on a NT4 machine. We are trying to connect another server (NT4) using Exchange administrator and are getting the ds_e_communications_problem error. So far what has been done is:

1. set permissions on exchange server for the user, including site, config containers, etc.
2. Applied Microsoft's hotfix-322051
3. pinged server to verify communications
4. verified RPC communications using rpcpping

Another twist is that we are using Samba for all of our user logins.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Is the PC joined to the same domain as the Exchange server or to a domain with two-way trusts? If its not joined, it won`t work...
