I have 2 E2K servers in my domain and some users get mail intended for other users. It is not consistant and I can't reproduce. There is nothing in common with the users and I can't figure it out.

Any help is appreciated

I am having the same problem with Exchange 2K SP4. It is sporadic and the message is always spam. I checked the headers and the intended recipient address is valid but they never receive the message. A different user (valid address) receives it. Any ideas???

One of my users is having the same problem. Emails addressed for other recipients will end up in this user's mailbox. This occurs sporadically and the emails delivered were spam. I'm running GFI MailEssentials 10.1 with Exchange 2000. Other newgroups messages I read indicates this might be an issue with GFI MailEssentials and BCC fields in the spam message.

Where can I find the newsgroups? We're having the same issue as well. Except it's also happening with legitimate emails. We're also running GFI Mail Essentials and Mail Security.

We are having exactly the same problem. Has anyone found an answer to this yet?

I have been having the exact same problem. im running Exchange 2k on an sbs server via another server running ISA.

The exchange box collects mail via smtp and not pop connector.

The problem seems to be with the way in which the exchange box is handling BCC mail.

Or it could be some type conversion that is taking place to the mail headers somewhere.

Here is an example of a mail header for one of the mail that was routed incorrectly.

The intended recipient is meant to be sarahi@somwhere.com but the mail is going to enquiries.

Not finding much help anywhere yet.

And this is normally to do with newsgroups, as they tend to use BCC field to send mail.

Anyone like to take a stab at resolving this?

Hi all i have finally unearthed the problem. (well in my case anyway).

If the mail is being collected via a pop3 connector then it will not allow bcc mail to be sent to the correct mail box.

Note this is only if your collecting mail via pop3 mailbox from your ISP.

This will probably make more sence>>

We are running Exchange 2000 SP4, and also have a similar problem.
Messages that have been sent to AND from our domain have gone to completely the wrong recipients.
We do not use POP3. All email is sent and recieved via SMTP. Obviously this could have serious implications for us so I am desperate for any help on this! Any answers would be very much appreciated!
