Is the mailflow being locally or over the connector?
Is there any smarthost present?
Well according to my understanding from your post it seems that the mail is being delivered between two domains..?
Please elaborate so that we can be on a specific route

Thanks..

It is accross the internet and yes 2 seperate domains. we have exchange 2003 with windows 2003 everyone else has no issue. no smarthost on my side but the bank only has an IT person come in quartly so the person i'm dealing with is a vice president of the bank.

yes i agree LOL and even worse it's on his side we email to him just fine. We get mail from anyone else just fine. Is there a tool that i might use at the bank that might give me a clue so i can change my exchange to help his email get thru? I don't think they will let me on the server LOL

If its only a headache between you two guys - why dont you ask them to create a seperate SMTP connector with your domain specified in the address name space and your Exchange server specified in their smart host. This should work like charm.

Oh and you asked for a tool to be run- check this out

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=4BDC1D6B-DE34-4F1C-AEBA-FED1256CAF9A&displaylang=en

This contains Exchange Mail Flow Analyzer.

yea that would be nice but he probably will not let me on there server and the IT person for the bank comes quartly but they might beable to hit remotely but being a bank maybe not. I'll try the tool does it have to run on both sides or can i run it on my side and have him send an email? thanks

ok they are back in business. We still can't receive from them. We have one other client that gets this error error from remote server after RCPT command:
host removed for privicy timeout while waiting on response. So we don't reject anyones mail so can this be our isp smtp filter altho we don't go thru them for email?
