Could use some help. I am adding a second email server to our site. We are running exchange 5.5 sp4 on an NT 4 domain. When I try to run setup on the new server to install exchange, the install aborts with this error. The microsoft mail e-mail address for the site is required for this operation, but has been removed from the site object. Use raw properties to edit the site object and replace the microsoft mail e-mail address. ID no: c1030b3a. I have
found only one article in all my searches of tech net and the web. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 248425 This does not seem to apply to me since I am not installing a service pack on my original server.I did however follow the bulletin to see if there was a msmail address. There was not. My original server did not have msmail installed.I reran setup to install the msmail peice on the original server to solve this problem. I get the same error as described above. It appears to me that maybe at sometime the msmail connector may have been installed and there is a ghost of it somewhere in the exchange database. When I edit in raw mode, the add button is grayed out. I am currently using x400 by default and smtp. We are in the process of upgrading to Active Directory and will need to have a second server available during this upgrade. Any advice please. Thank you.
