Running W2K SP3 with Exchange Enterprise 2K SP3. Was running smoothly for 8 days after patching, rebooted now the problems have begun:
1) Can't view Public folders properties threw Sys Manager, get the following error: The operation failed due an internal server error. ID no c1030af2 Exchange System Manager
2) OWA doesn't work. Get an authenication prompt, then get a HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable.
I've brought up a second exchange server to move the mailboxes off, as a precaution. I need to move/replicate the public folders & address books to the other server but I can't get into the properties tab to setup replication. Can someone help... Thanking you in advance...

Hi I have had this a couple of times now, it seems like theese features are the most fragile on all exchange and are affected by everything you do to the damn thing. There are some similarities. If OWA doesnt work the public folder feature doesnt work either. (or gives that error message) Try this: 1. (If you are lucky) go to SBS manager -> exchange -> Administrative groups -> first Administrative groups -> Servers -> YourSERVERname -> Protocols -> HTTP Look if exchange virtual server is running. If not make it run. If it is already running you are Not lucky
2. (if you are not lucky)The only way i found out is to reinstall exchange (or repair install) i know it sucks and if someone has a better solution.. great.. i am urging for it.

Just a guess, did you check out this article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B309508? Also, many PF related problems are caused by settings in IIS. Make sure that the default site hosting the Exchange virtual directories has an identity with an empty header. If you use a ssl certificate you might want to temporarily uninstall it to see if things start working better (remember though to export the private key so you can reinstall it later).
