error starting exchange Information Service - 27.Nov.2000 7:09:00 AM

After upgrading from exchange 5.0 to 5.5 I received the following message when starting up the information store service:
Server specific error 2147746063.

I've looked at the article id:Q185573 from microsoft but that doesn't seem to solve the problem.

Can somebody please help me out?

We've had the same problem although not while doing an upgrade it just came up after a re-boot. We've got nowhere with it really except that it looks to us like a problem with Directory Services and not the Information Store. A new installation cured problem but as soon as we restored from backup (NTBackup) we had the problem again - looks like the problem has been hanging around and been being backed up. Nightmare!
