I am trying to configure my exchange 2000 server to support multiple domain names.  I enter the new domain name in the format @123.co.uk into the default policy of the recipient policies (Email address policy tab).

When I press apply,  I get the following error message.

This email address is not valid.... see the application event viewer ID no: c10312e6.

The event log shows the following message Event 2027 (Unable to generate the e-mail address. Unable to load address module '"D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\address\SMTP\i386\inproxy.dll' for address type 'SMTP'. Error 0xc007007e. )

I have also found that if I try to edit the current SMTP domain name details, that I get the same error message so the problem seems to be to be more than just setting up the server for multiple domains.

Any ideas please

I Have since noticed that I also get an event ID 2036 when I try to create the new domain. It states
The file version of '"D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\address\SMTP\i386\inproxy.dll'
installed on the local server is not current.
Looking at servers in the site for a current version.

I have tried installing other versions of the inproxy.dll, but this has
not worked, most probably because it needs a particular version and I have no way of telling which one.

Is there some way of determining which dll the system is looking for or changing
the file registered
