we have begun the migration, we are currently moving users to the new exch2k3 server. do i need to replicate all public folders or just the ones that we created on the old server. IPM_SUBTREE, NEWSGROUPS, and do i need to replicate any of the system folders as well before. So far I have added the new server as a REPLICA into all the public folders that i know were created by us.

The IPM_SUBTREE is visible on the new server, is that normal? Anonymous and default can only read.

Well, I would say you would be required to replicate all public folders (IPM_SUBTREE) and system folders (IPM_NONSUBTREE) especially you would be required to move offline address book / schedule+ free/busy. Thats it.
