Hi, everybody

recently I installed exchange srever 2003 on windows 2003 server. I am using ADSL line which is getting IP address dynamically. I register a domain name in dyndns.org (imdad.dyndns.org))and I install dyndns updater in my PC. I register one more domain name in godaddy.com and I have given MX record of dyndns.org (imdad.dyndns.org). I configure my ADSL router to forward port 25 traffic to my excchange server. I am able to send mail to public world but unable to receive mail from public world. Is there any other configuration required. My dear friends please help me to solve this problem. If you can help me to solve this problem I would be thankful to you.

Thanks & regards,

thkreddy

From my understanding, you registered a second domain name but you cannot send to this domain from an outside domain. Please enter this domain into www.dnsstuff.com under dnsreport field, and report all issues.

In order for your, Exchange server to receive mails from outside, Senders Mail servers  must be able to locate your mail server when they do a Query (MX first )
As  James advised go to
http://www.dnsreport.com/
on the right upper corner put your e-mail address and hit mail test
if there is no  MX (mail exchanger record) on Public DNS servers, that is where your problem is.
Make sure both domains will have MX record, and they point to an IP address which will point to your mail server.
I think the way you setup. Both domains point to a dyndns.org and you have MX record for both of them
As far as I remember if you are not using one of their Free domains, then you have to pay some extra money and transfer your domain to them so they can add a MX, and A record on their Public DNS server for your Domain.
When this happens, they will accept queries behalf of your domain and push it back to your server.

Shouldn't this post be in the Exchange 2003 forum and not the SBS one? I don't see what it has to do with SBS Exchange 2003. :)

I would check with your ISP to see if they block port 25 coming in. I know that ISPs that give you a dynamtic IP address on their DSL service (PPPoE is generally considered as DSL not ADSL here and dedicated ADSL is something totally different) usually block all port 25 activity coming to stop people from running servers on their networks and forcing you to upgrade your service to some kind of static IP service. If this is case the for you were they are blocking port 25 coming in then you will need to purchase another service from DynDNS which redirects your emails coming in on a different port like 24.
