Nope just make sure DNS is updated for your Exchange host.

There is nothing particular you need to do with DNS. DNS doesn't care about networks just name resolution. As long as you update your Exchange dns record with new ip your clients can access this server given you don't have some firewall rules setup between the networks. Also ensure you set up Active Directory sites and services to configure your networks.

Ok thanks for the clarification. Yes, you can provide pop3. I would be better if you used MAPI. Are you going to be moving your Domain controller to new network as well? If you're moving both your DC and Ex to new environment it's easy. On the new 172 network make sure you nat to the same public IP so you don't have to change your EXTERNAL dns record. Your user's in your 192 net will use DNS servers to locate the pulic IP of your Exchange server and connect over POP.

Yes, it's possible but it's alot more work. Reason being is since you said there is no vpn between these networks, Exchange and DC need to communicate between the two. First of all you should have a DC in close proximity especially on the same network if possible. But now, since DC is going to be firewalled to your Exchange, you need to open alot of ports to get it to work and I can tell you you're prob going to bang your head working out the issues that may arise. It's best to move both Ex and DC to the same network.

Since it's not registered domain, outside users can't connect to it by the public name, but he can using IP. So when he configures say outlook express, he must put in the public ip of your mail server for the pop\smtp server settings. Then you need to make sure that port 110 (pop) is open on the firewall to your Exchange server.

Any chance you can add another NIC to the Exchange server and give it a andress on the 192.x.y.0 network?
