i have exchange 2000 working well. my problem though is that i want to start using entourage for my mac users, or mac mail. here is the thing, although i ahve tried many configurations, i can't get complete compatability. i can get it internally working, but not externally, can't send, thats the best i get. Exchange 2000 was installed prior to my tenure, and it came with a second entourage enabled disk, i know that it will answer most of my problems, but i am cautios to install the disk because i don't know what it will do to the previous installation.

OK, you need OWA working correctly. If you are doing OWA over SSL, make sure you don't get a certificate pop up.
Secondly, add IMAP4 support to the Exchange server.
Then allow all Mac users to connect using IMAP4 (simple, but often missed) and OWA. Double check DNS entries for the Exchange server.
Then install Entourage on the client, touch a lot of wood and configure it almost like Outlook Express on a PC.
It either works first time or it is hateful. Personally I hate Entourage - it doesn't do it for me. I'm still using Outlook 2001 for Mac in classic mode and it is great.
