Hi,
I am running an SBS 2003 server and internally the site redirects http to https without any configuration on my part.  How do I get this to work externally?

There shouldn't be any difference externally/internally.  What happens when you go to http externally?  Does it just not redirect, or do you get some kind of error when it tries?

I think my issue is that I have an external firewall and do not use ISA therefore I am allow ssl through to the SBS server.  I don't know if there will be a way to do this.  Any thoughts

You will need to configure the firewall to pass port 443 (SSL) traffic to the SBS server.

I am allowing 443 through to the sbs server however if a request comes in on port 80 it is not allowed and I am not sure that I want to open that up?

If you want the redirect to happen automatically, then yes, you need to open port 80 too.  This is because the plain http request needs to successfully reach the server before the redirect can happen.
