Hello all
I am starting an install of exchange 2007sp1 on windows 2008 x64 into an existing domain that already has an exchange 2003 server.

I have gone though all the checks and setup/upgraded the existing environment so that i am in a position to start the install.

During the Readiness Checks, for Mailbox Role Prerequisites I get this error

"The CN=Public Folders object is missing
under the CN=All Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=enSynergy Consulting Ltd,CN=Microsoft Exchange,
CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=ensynergy,DC=co,DC=nz object in the Active Directory directory service.
Manually create the CN=Public Folders container, and then restart setup.
Please visit
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935636/ for more information."

I have checked the KB article and gone through it trying to eliminate the 3 possible causes.

In my exchange 2003 server I do not have the Public Folders container in the place specified. I tried to create one as suggested but this failed as I was trying to create an object that was already defined.

In the Exchange System Manager console, on the exchange2003 server, I have found 2 objects called "Public Folders".

It seems that when this installation was originall yset up back in the exchange 5.5 days they created a Public Folder Tree under the Folders
folder called Public Folders - for public folders, instead of putting all their public folders under the Public Folder Store. (might have to read this a couple of times in order to understand it! )

At this stage I cannot complete the exchange 2007 installation and the alternatives are not that attractive in terms of complexity and work
and disruption.

My question is can I move the folders created under the Public Folder folder created in the Folders container into the one in the
Public Folder Store? and then delete the erroneous one?

thanks
