Hi DanielAfricom, There are a few considerations that you have failed to mention here, but I want you to have a look at the following: 1. Have you created an MX record for your Exchange on your DNS server? 2. Your exchange IP address should map to your Firewall public ip address and you have to permit traffice on port 25. 3. What sort of server roles are installed on your Exchange server? - Is CAS included? This is necessary if you want to make use of OWA and Outlook Anywhere. If you have all these setup I am sure you will be able to send and receive emails from the Internet. Spy

Is your ISP now hosting your email and you want to do it yourself or have the ISP send the email to your Exchange server? If you are hosting yourself: You will need an Fully Qualified Domain Name that is registered like blah.com. Next, add an MX record at the DNS providor for that domain that points to a public IP address that you NAT and or Port Forwarrd through your firewall to your Exchange server on Port 25. You will also need to make the configuration changes on your exchange server to add what domain it accepts mail for and ensure everyone has there SMTP addresses in place so Exchange will deliver them to the correct mailboxes. I would highly recommend some sort of filtering for SPAM/Viruses whether an Edge Transport or appliance. I think you can do it on the other roles as well. I use a Barracuda. Not sure about an ISP routing hosted email....

Hi Daniel, Rparson1000 has mentioned another important fact that you might have overlooked: Registering a domain name. Let me try and simplify this: Does your company have a website? If it does, then there is a good chance that you have a domain name registered, for instance, www.exchange.com You could register another one if it has not been done already, this might be something like mail.exchange.com Then you create an MX record on your DNS server for this. You will find a lot of documentation on this on the Internet/Technet etc. Regards Spy
