Hi everybody and greetings
Due to the new year a lot of Exchange 2000 Server's users change their email address (no comment about it!) I want to catch all the emails send to old email address, deliver them to the new address and send a message to the sender suggesting to change the address. Of course these rules should work on server side (when outlook 2000 is not active, too)
I don't know hot to set it, can anyone help? Thankx and bye z.

The easiest thing to do is to create an alternate SMTP address.
First, rename the user account to the new user id (assuming you have done that).
Once the Recipient Update service has run and all of the changes have replicated, you need to go to Active Directory Users and Computers, and open the properties sheet on a user. Navigate to the 'email addresses' Tab.
Click "New," select "SMTP Address" from the dialog box, and click OK. Type in the OLD email address and click OK. Both the old and new addresses should show up.
Make sure that the NEW address is set as Primary (all outgoing mail will be stamped with the primary address), so that all new correspondence has the correct reply address.

Hi Aaron annd thanks for your reply. I've already done these steps, the difficult thing to do for me is to set up the "autoanswer" mechanism on server side. any ideas?
cheers z.
