Hi,
i have only 1 AD domain, and 1 exch server 2007,i installed hub transport,client access,n mailbox role,n also i want to do the anti spam n internet e-mail flow without having edge transport server.
So,
i did configure DNS for forward n reverse lookup zone.
i dnt v any idea that shud i configure A n MX record?plz suggest me?n if neccessary,then plz tell me step by step..

"You" don't do anything I shouldn't think. You don't do anything to the DNS your Active Directory uses as Exchange doesn't use/need MX records internally.
You probably don't do anything to your external facing domain either. I would suspect you have your ISP set up the A record, MX record and PTR record to the IP address of the A record.
Short of that I'm not actually sure what you asked.

Hi,
Can u plz tell me how to configure DNS for exch svr setup?c i have 1 ADdomain n 1 exch srvr, n i v installed hub,client ACCESS N MAILBOX SVR ROLE WITHIN A SINGLE MACHINE,
wat i did,i configured DNS for forward lookup zone n reverse zone.
So,i want 2 know,shud i need to do anythn else regarding DNS?can u tell me?
Wat i did,is it enough?

hello,
i v1 domain controller n i exch srvr 2007,i installed hub transport,client access,mailbox svr role withn a single machine.i dnt have any edge transport svr role installed machine.
n for that i configured the forward n reverse lookup zone (dns).can u tell me,anythn else for dns?have i left anythn to configure dns?plz tell me in details.
Becoz ,wen 4m the client machine,i was trying ,outlook could nt connect to the exch svr.i am getting this error"

hi,
Few things need to check...
I guess you have user with email address stamped (Exchange 2007 new feature)
Network connectivity from outlook to DC\GC and exchange 2007
Run exbpa tool from toolbox to check out.
Try to access owa from the client computer.
Check the application log of exchange server as well

Hi,
i was trying OWA from client machine,its nt opening the page,wat i wrote:https://ssiexchsrvr/owa
since our exch srvr name is "ssiexchsrvr",n domain name "sivasystems.com"
bt wen i am trying 4m exch srvr machine,its opening,bt nt 4m client machine,plz help me out.
did i type wrong path?
wat shud i write?i am unable to do that.

do one thing instead of FQDN/owa type exchagne server ip address/owa

actually in my case,the certificate is only in the trusted sites, n i restarted exchange imap4 n pop3 service.anythn else?

I wasn't asking if your client was able to access Exchange. I asked if your machine is resolving the mail server via DNS. Open a command prompt and type nslookup ssiexchsrvr If this fails, then DNS resolution is not working.

You should only be connecting to OWA via HTTPS. Check the internal URL of OWA in the EMC.
Unless you need IMAP and POP access, you should turn these off.
Make sure Outlook is not using Offline mode.

If you don't require POP or IMAP, then yes, turn them off.

The internal URL can be whatever you want it to be. This is configurable in the Exchange console under Server Configuration>Client Access

i have stopped 2 services,imap4 n pop3.
next, regarding internal URL,
WAT i did,i went to servr configuration->client access->outlookweb access
under this,5 objects shown..so i go to OWA(default website)->prpperties->i checked an internal URL is https://ssiexchsrvr.sivasystems.com/owa
n third one,i checked outlook,its showing working online.
n tell me also,suppose in one of client computer its showing offline,so how to do it online?
wat to do?still its nt accessible.

You would just click there and choose to have it work Online.

4m whr i ll get that option so that i can do online?i didnt get that.

in this case,my certificate name is "ssiexchsrvr"
n i told u that i am unable to access OWA 4m client computer and I unable to configure my outlook also.becoz,wen i was trying to connect my outlook to exch srvr,it gives error.
