I want to implement Exchange 2007 HA solution with 200 mailboxes but I'm new with Exchange 2007 so I have couple of questions:
- How Storage controller should be because these confuse me a lot, have it to be SAN or it is not necessary and I can use lower cost storage implementation (could it be any external HD if not please specify some storage devices as example)
- How CCR could help more than SCC cause I have read it lower cost and administration
- have I to install EX2007 SP1 or to use Rollup 7 will be enough or these are separate components that I have to install both and if there is link to EX2007 SP1 only cause what I have found is  E2K7SP1EN64 854.7 MB which is EX2007 + SP1

hi,

As Exchange 2007 is 64-bit technology and it is a good gift fromMS in terms of perfomance as compare to previous version so we need to have good performance shared disk like SAN. Even you can use DAS as well.
For DAS webcast:
http://msevents.microsoft.com/CUI/WebCastEventDetails.aspx?EventID=1032367994&EventCategory=3&culture=en-US&CountryCode=US

2) difference between CCR & SCC : http://exchangeserverinfo.com/2008/02/20/exchange-2007--high-availability-solution--single-copy-cluster.aspx#Comment
Go to the comment column then you decide which one is good for your org.

3) Yes for installing Exchange with sp1 you will get complete repack of exchagne along with sp1. There is no specifice files just for sp1 what we had in Exchange 2003 it is going complete insallation fine

1.  SAN or direct-attached storage is fine.  If you don't have a SAN at present, you don't necessarily need one.

2.  CCR gives you data redundancy, something that SCC does not.  Also, CCR allows you to backup from the passive node.  It's worth looking into.

3.  Go with E2K7 SP1.  The download is indeed E2K7 SP1 rolled together and you can install direct from it.  There is no need to install RTM first, then apply SP1.

Just for remind.  If you consider to deploy Exchange Cluster (CCR/SCC), you must deploy Client Access and Hub Transport on seperate server(s).  Thanks!

Thank y all for your reply
But does CCR support more than 2 active node
I have started test environment with VMware6.3 in spite of it supports Host OS in win2003 x64 but it didn't work in my guest machine It couldn't be installed it didn't recognize cpu ability to x64 and asked me to install 32 version
Lastly if there is any web site or tool that analyze the server to make sure it supports win2003 x64

CCR is 2 nodes only, 1 active and 1 passive.

As for your VMWare issue I don't know.  I've built production E2K7 environments on VMWare using 64-bit and it's fine, so there should be no issues.

And for my previous question if there is any site or a tool to check Hardware compatibility with WIN2003 x64
