hi,

I would suggest you to run exbpa tool on that server, you can download it from www.exbpa.com

Actually viewing the system requirements for Exchange 2k7 would help:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996719.aspx

It doesn't list Server 2008 there. You also need to use a 64 bit machine.

The full installation option of Windows Server 2008 must be used for all Exchange 2007 SP1 servers

Don't know where you're seeing that at,it says in the second table:

Although you cannot install Exchange 2007 RTM on a server running Windows Server 2008, Exchange 2007 RTM is supported for use with Windows Server 2008 directory servers. Similarly, Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) cannot be installed on computers running Windows Server 2008, but it is supported for use with Windows Server 2008 directory servers.

It also goes on to say:

To deploy Exchange 2007 SP1 on Windows Server 2008, you must install Windows Server 2008 on a computer that does not have Exchange installed, and then install Exchange 2007 SP1. To learn more about running Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2008, see "Exchange 2007 and Windows Server 2008" in Exchange Server 2007: Platforms, Editions, and Versions.

All the info needed to do this is there, but they contradict themselves a bit along the way don't they. And..my bad, it does list 2008. I only glanced at the list.

hi mate,

Yes we need to have Exchange 2007 SP1.  for windows 2008.

The exchange 2007 sp1 is not a normal service pack as you think it is totally having different set of process, in older version we had a concept of installing application and then upgrading with latest service pack. but this exchange 2007 sp1 will install the whole application if you haven't installed it or else if you have exchange 2007 it will just uninstalll the application and reinstall with sp1.

I blogged an article regarding this may be it will fruitful for you

That's where you guessed wrong. The SP1 download is the full version.

hi mate,

I guess you have the right flavour

size is 854 MB...

This is the link from where i downloaded : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=44C66AD6-F185-4A1D-A9AB-473C1188954C&displaylang=en

this is the correct one... because it is a zipped one, once you extract it then there will be increase in size i guess
but i have tested that one it is working fine for me.

But still i am not sure that can we install it in production environment.

The only thing about putting it in production would be the fact that 2008 is fairly new, which should at the least make you want to really test everything before actually putting it to use. Beyond that..as long as you're using RTM versions of server and exchange, should be ok I would think.
