Hi all... I got this question from a client. I am fairly positive the answer is "you cannot do this" but I thought I would throw it out for discussion. "I have been told that we can limit our users ability to be able to create folders at the root of the mailbox and only allow them to be able to create inside of a default folder such as inbox, sent items, calendar, etc..."

You're right. A users' mailbox is theirs. It is not for anyone in the business to determine how a user files their messages so Exchange does not cater for it.

Oddly, I ran across a whole raft of things that the EWS can do; however, that is a very slippery slope. Removing the owner from being an owner, yet reassigning the owner back at the lower level. I can see where MAYBE this could be made to work, but what a goat rope it would be. Herding cats bigtime.
