I am testing various antivrus products that run in a gateway configuration. The 1 I am testing right now is GFI's Mail Security. They have you set up your gateway machine and configure the IIS SMTP service to receive and forward all mail - the Exchange server is configured to send all mail to the gateway as a smart host and you set up an MX record pointing to the gateway machine instead of the Exchange server for incoming. Anyhow, I set it up this way and I guess there was an initial configuration issue which caused about 3000 messages to get queued on the gateway machine. They have never gone anywhere - they are just sitting in the queue folder.
Does anyone know a way that I can resend those messages manually?

Thanks!

Jeff

You can physically put them in the PICKUP directory under the MAILROOT\VSI 1 directory on the Exchange 2000 server.

This is assuming that the message format has not been changed by the software

Hi,

quick question. if you transfer the stuck email message on a different queue folder will the file name change?

Let say:

This file name from Exchange1 server Queue Folder
NTFS_ab8559d601cb2a2e98585757.EML

Transferred to Exchange2 server queue folder

Will it change? Just out of curiosity.

Thanks
