We've recently migrated from exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000. We joined the exchange 2K server to the 5.5 org and moved all the resources to the Exchange 2K server. after following the steps to decommission the 5.5 server (Q248148 Remove Last 5.5 Server and Q272314 Preparing Mixed Mode For Native), the exchange 5.5 server still appears in the Exchange 2K system manager.

Has anyone else seen this or have a solution?

Thanks,

Walt

Hi walt
if you used only those articles for your Exchange 2000 migration, then there not enough.

Read this article:
HOW TO: Migrate from Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange 2000 Server (Q316886)

Pulse the part that addresses your problem can be found in this article:
XADM: How to Remove the Last Exchange Server 5.5 Computer from Exchange 2000 Administrative Group.

if i understand the method you did the migration you just need to delete the old 5.5 from the Exchange 2000 console.

Hope this helps
