amdeeb -> problem upgrading from 5.5 to 2000 (4.Nov.2002 2:34:00 PM)

I'm trying to upgrade from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000, when I run the
setup file I receive the following message

The Component "Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services"
can't be assigned the action "Upgrade because

- The directory service is not the expected type (Windows 2000 Active
Directory vs. Exchange Directory). Make sure that windows 2000 Active
Directory and Exchange Directory are not listening on the same LDAP port.

- To upgrade your Exchange 5.5 Server or to add a new server to an existing
Microsoft Exchange site, the account you are logged in as must have Admin
permissions on the Site and configuration object

- Setup has detected the Exchange 5.5 site your server belongs to has not
replicated to the Active Directory yet, You can either wait for replication
to complete and try the upgrade again or upgrade a server from a site that
has already been replicated on the AD.

I trited to install it many times but every time the same message so I can
exclude the 3rd option

1) Is your server Windows 2000 Server?
2) Do you have Windows 2000 Active Directory installed and configured properly?
3) Is this Exchange 5.5 server the Windows 2000 Domain Controller for your Active Directory?
4) If so, did you rename the LDAP to 390?
5) Did you install and configure the Active Directory Connection Agreements so that you can join an Exchange 5.5 site?
6) Did you read the Upgrade Whitepaper from the www.Microsoft.com/exchange website?

These are just a few items to look into...
