RobH -> Method for 5.5 to E2K (11.Nov.2002 1:50:00 PM)

Can anybody tell me the best method for migrating

Current box - NT4 Ex5.5 to
New Box Windows 2000 E2K.

Any prerequisits or anything I should do? The Ex5.5 box isn't very big only around 40 users.

I would use Exmerge. It will extract all the mailboxes to PST files. Then You run it on the new server, and it puts the mailboxes on the new server.

I have a similar problem. The new exmerge utility can only run on windows 2000. Do you know a site where I can download an old versionof the exmerge utility that can be run in windows NT. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem.

What I did was installed a copy of the E5.5 Remote Admin/Management Console on my Win2000 Laptop then ran the new Exmerge Utility on there and pointed to the E5.5 Server then simply coppied the .pst files over to the new server.

Worked a treat and the new system is now up and running with minimum down-time and no loss of Data.
