Hi All,
I've migrated from Exchange 5.5 to 2000 but not everything went well. The public folders stayed on my 5.5 server but... the server isn't there anymore. Is there a way to get rid of all old server settings, kind of repair option, in other words, is there a way to let Exchange know it has to locate everything on the new server ?

Thanks in advance

Bernard

Hi,
Did your public folder syncronize when the two exchange servers were co-exsisting if yes then you try connecting to the new server by right clicking the public folder in system manager console ,
I think that should work please update me

I did that but it did not work.
There are differences between a fresh installed server and my running server which I can't change because the item is unchangable for example:
system folder: SYSTEM CONFIGURATION = /NON_IPM_SUBTREE/SYSTEM CONFIGURATION/

and there a others like that

Bernard Dijkhuizen,

The issue is your previous domain controller has left its Metadata on the Active Directory and i assume that would definetly show up the old server to get rid of the old server you can use the ntdsutil.exe and remove all the stored containers of the old server for more information check the microsoft kB articles since i am a bit ignorant about 5.5 and its mapping on the PDC i would not suggest you to take this note for granted infact this would be a good try
About active directory please see
