First thank you for all of you that help here.

I have an old exchange server (2000) that died, and has no backup. Fortunately i had moved all mailboxes and public folders to the new server before it went belly up(it was a very nervious day)

As i can not uninstall the old exchanger server by using the install disk how can i manually remove it from active directory, and the exchange system manager?

All documentation i have found assumes the first exchange server still works.

And yes, the new server has a fully functional backup that has been tested now.
