Client access after migration - 9.May2005 7:03:00 PM

Running W2K Exchange on member server. This past weekend installed new Exchange member server. Moved mailboxes via AD Users and Computers.

Tested mail for myself and one other account after move and everything ok.

Had to flatten previous Exchange server.

Today all other users could not access Outlook, received message 'Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The Microsoft Exchange server is not available....'

The reason for the message is that the clients were still pointing to the old Exchange server. For some clients I manually changed Outlook to point to the new server and now they connect fine.

For other clients this is not an option... their desktops are locked down via GPO and thus cannot access properties for Outlook.

Looking for method to be able to change remaining clients.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Can you access the Mail control panel? Alternatively you can change registry at:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\ <name>\<long number>
