brusnier -> Error after I upgrade an Exchange 2003 server to Windows 2003 (5.Aug.2003 10:44:00 PM)

After upgrading an Exchange 2003 server to Windows 2003, I tried two in our test lab, I got the following error when I try to log onto the domain as the administrator on the Exchange 2003 machine;

The system cannot log you on due to the following error:

The name or security ID (SID) of the domain specified is inconsistent with the trust information for that domain.

Please try again or consult your system administrator.

I have tried removing one of the machines and deleting the disabled account. I then added the box back into the domain and the problem still occurs at logon. I have outlined below my steps to produce the problem.

Steps for testing Exchange 2003 (Rough Outline)

Did you Upgrade your Windows 2000 domain controllers to SP3 before installing Exchange 2003 into the domain ?

If applying SP3 to Windows 2000 didn't help, try this one. Create new user account assing necessary permissions and try.

My colleague just had a situation with a brand new instllation of Win2003 and Exchange2003 where forestprep reported the same error with the built in Administrator account. After creating another user with the exactly same permissions everything went fine
