I was wondering where the software was on this website to buy chat service for exchange 2000? can anyone help me please?

You may want to look at Microsoft Live Communications Server 2003. This is what replaced the Exchange Instant Messaging. I hope that is what you meant. Live Communications Server 2003

Well the chat service should be an installation option in the exchange installation. It should be on both Standard and Enterprise. Just run the setup again and it should give you the option of the chat service.

There is no Microsoft Chat Service with Exchange 2003.
You would need to purchase a third-party solution or setup a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server to act as your chat server.

BTW, this forum is for Exchange 2003 issues not Exchange 2000 issues, so to answer your question, you will need Exchange 2000 Enterprise for the chat service, its not available with Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2000 Standard.
