Restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store start->run->(type in the run box)services.msc find and restart the service 2. go to exchange system manager and rebuild the Offline adress list recipients->offline adress list->right click on the adress list and rebuild. there shoud not be any error!! when everything is with no errors then you have done it! Try send/receive in outlook hope this helps

Finally! When I saw this original post I just had a feeling that my problem was related to #2, just a gut instinct. It was. But, I've got an exchange 2007 server and I'm very unfamiliar with the new interface and very hopelessly lost at times. :) quote:
ORIGINAL: Guest OK guys... this thread has pretty much the complete solution in it. But only 1 person touched on it... that was epresley... here's the fix... 1. make sure your offline address book has been rebuilt. 2. right click on mailbox store, select properties... right on the first general screen in the middle, you have no offline address book selected... click browse, advanced, find now and select it... 3. MOST IMPORTANT! restart you information store service from services mmc console. That's it. Then, I found this post and it led me to a microsoft article that told me how to accomplish #2 (from above) in both Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007. Yippee! quote:
ORIGINAL: Amodin http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=905813 See if this will help, this has a couple of different ways of fixing it. Thanks for those posts and thanks to everyone on this thread for helping everyone else out. :) I was on page 9 of this thread before I found the answer, but 0x8004010F is gone! YAY! My new installation of Exchange 2007 just plain wasn't working because I hadn't told it where the OAB was. Didn't think I should have to tell it where my only OAB is, but oh well. ;)

I tried this solution: Exchange System Manager: > Goto Recipients->Offline Address Lists->Default > Offline Address list, right click and select rebuild. But when i press rebuild, this is the error message i get: quote:
Access is denied. Facility: Win32 ID no: c0070005 Exchange System Manager I tried this method ( http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/323915) for the above error but still the error keeps on popping up. Any help guys ?

help all plz. i had a pending previous installation of exchange 2007 and i faild in recoverserver mode so i used adsiedit.msc tool to delete all previous exchange objects from schema and start a new exchange server installation. after i finished the installation once i opened the exchange manager i see all user accounts with predefined mail addresses and with aliases also. i moved all acounts to a new data base i created and every thing was fine. when i setup pop3 account it's working fine but when i try to setup exchange account after i press send/recieve i get the error "an object couldn't be found" . i look to event log i find : 1-Microsoft Exchange System Attendant reported an error '0x80072020' in its DS Monitoring thread. 2- Failed to generate offline Address Book, error '80072020' 3- Microsoft Exchange System Attendant reported an error '0x80072020' when setting DS notification. i really don't know if the cause is that old pending installation or what!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will have to go to exchange system manager then properties and address lists and verify a valid address lists is populated in address lists.

hi, Could you please verify that under mailbox store properties r u able to see valid default OAB in the general tab? you can try to increase diagnostic logging for OAB generation and look out for possible event. If possible for testing purpose you can create new oab and set it to always (test it during off peak hours) and then associate that new oab with the mailbox store and wait for replicaiton and then try it out.

This worked for me on Exchange 2003 quote:
ORIGINAL: WeeManDK FINALLY! I resolved this issue on my own Exchange 2003 with 26 Clients, who all had the error. Solution i used: On your exchange server, browse to the following folder: C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\schema Check if the folder "non_ipm_subtree" is created. If not, create it! And create a subfolder in the dir. called "schema". After that, proceed with these steps: 1. make sure your offline address book has been rebuilt. 2. right click on mailbox store, select properties... right on the first general screen in the middle, you have no offline address book selected... click browse, advanced, find now and select it... 3. MOST IMPORTANT! restart you information store service from services mmc I had tried everything, but only this worked! So make shure that folder is there, and it should work like a charm! WeeMan Out.

Hi All, Error 0x8004010F translates to MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND. Its definitely points to a MAPI object missing or misconfigured on some object in Exchange. It would be anything (Mailbox store, Public folder store, Offline address list, etc). The best way to troubleshoot these errors is turn on "Diagnostic Logging" on the affected process (e.g. DS Access, PF replication, OAB generation). One could also run ExBPA tool which scans entire Exchange ORG and reports the errors with possible solution links in Technet. Hope this helps. PD

Finally!!!!! I have been having this issue for a while now and I have tried everything in all the support forums (user forums, Microsoft, etc) but no luck. I tried rebuilding the address book list, deleting it, and re-creating it. At first, only select users would experience the issue, and it would come and go but none the less, users were experiencing the issue. These are the steps I did to finally fix it across the board for everyone (I have over 100 mailboxes running Exchange Server 2003 with Outlook XP/2003 clients) First I deleted the offline address book and re-created it (Microsoft says you have to use a different name or wait 7 days, so be sure to change the name) Then rebuilt it and set it to default. Under - Administrative groups --> Server --> "server name" --> First Storage Group --> Mailbox Store (select properties of it). Under Offline Address list click browse and select the newly created offline address book list. Click Ok. In services restart Exchange Information Store. This still did not work, but this last step did the trick. In your Outlook select Tools--> Options. Under Mail Setup tab click on Send/Receive button. Select the relevant Group Name and click on Edit. Under Accounts Option you may find the Download offline Address book option (checked/selected). Please DO NOT select the check-box option and save your settings. Do an explicit Send/Receive operation. This will take some time to complete, so be patient. Once the operation is completed (success or fail is not relevant) again perform the explicit Send/Receive operation. This time you will not get any errors and the operation gets completed fast. Thanks to everyone on this forum, and Prasad Paturi for the last step.

That’s how I got rid of that error message: Exchange System Manager: Goto Recipients->Offline Address Lists->Default Offline Address list, right click and select rebuild. Following message showed up: No bindings. Facility: Win32, ID no: c00706b6 Exchange system manager" In "Services" I have checked the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant - Status was blank, I started it. (Right click->start) I went back to: Exchange System Manager: Goto Recipients->Offline Address Lists->Default Offline Address list, right click and select rebuild. This time no error message, default offline address list was rebuilt successfully. Checked my Outlook -The previous message was gone -: Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server reported error (0x8004010f): 'The operation failed. An object could not be found.'" It worked for me. Cheers
