I just upgraded my NT4 PDC to Windows 2003. I still have a few NT4 BDCs. Now I need to migrate my exchange 5.5 to 2003. Can I do the migration while I still have NT4 domain controllers? OR will i have to convert all of my NT4 BDCs to Windows 2003 first?

As long as you have a Windows 2003 DC in place, you can go ahead with the Forestprep, Domainprep and install of your Exchange 2003 server.

When you say "migrate Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003", you mean install another Windows 2003 server (member server is ok), and install Exchange 2003 onto it, and joining your current Org. right? As you can not do an in-place upgrade from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 in one step.

Are you sure? As I was waiting for a reply, I was reading the Exchange Server Deployment Guide and it says that one of the system-wide requirements is: "Domain Controllers are running Windows 2000SP3 or Windows Server 2003". I am building a new member server with WinServer2003 and plan on installing Exchange 2003 to it. Would the Exchange Server Deployment Tool tell me if it wouldn't work with NT4 domain controllers? Is there any Domain downtime to running a ForestPrep,DomainPrep? I planned on doing this during work hours. Do you see any problems with this migration that would effect users in my domain?
