poolshag -> System processes fail to start in Startup (12.Jun.2005 9:43:00 AM)

Hi all
I recently installed MS Exchange 2003 server on a w2k3 server (with sp1) which is a part of a w2k3 domain in a w2k3 level forrest. The exchange server is NOT a domain controller.
The installation whent fine and extending the schema, domain and forrest succeded without an error as well a the exchange installation.
When i boot the computer after installation i receive an popup window in the logon screen that says: "At least one service or driver failed during system startup. Use event viewer to examine the event log for details." and when i check the event viewer i see 2 error in the application part

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeDSAccess
Event Category: Topology
Event ID: 2104
Date: 12.6.2005
Time: 13:43:16
User: N/A
Computer: servername
Description:
Process INETINFO.EXE (PID=1628). All the DS Servers in domain are not responding.

Straight after this one comes another

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: General
Event ID: 1005
Date: 12.6.2005
Time: 13:43:22
User: N/A
Computer: servername
Description:
Unexpected error The server is not operational. Facility: Win32 ID no: 8007203a Microsoft Exchange System Attendant occurred.

And then the third one

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1030
Date: 12.6.2005
Time: 13:43:27
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: servername
Description:
Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this.

Can anyone please take a look at this and help me out, i realy need the server up and runninng "[Confused]"

Hi,

I have seen similar things happening when the port in the switch that the Exchange server is connected is configured for spanning tree (should be port fast on I believe the name is).

Services will start if you start them manually after logon right?

Hi and thanks for your answer
I am not realy sure what service i should start. because there are many msexchange services that are using that proccess (inetinfo.exe)

Could this be a GC problem regarding the first error i receive.
Since i am new in the exchange world would it be bad idea to promote this member server to a DC with a GC.

Hi
It seems that these error where because of an linux DNS beeing a seconday DNS, for some reson the exchange was talking to the secondary server insted of the primary... i configured the exchange as a DNS an changed the network configurations an everything worked after that

thanks alot guys
