casarotto -> automatically copy mail sent by a user to other users? (13.Apr.2005 1:28:00 PM)

I am in the process of moving users from Merak Mail Server to Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003.

A very useful function of the merak server is its ability to copy incoming and/or outgoing mail to other e-mail addresses (internal or external addresses).

I have managed to set exchange to copy all incoming mail to other addresses using distribution lists. I cannot fathom out a way for exchange to automatically copy mail sent by a user to other users.

i.e. email sent from boss to a client, is automatically sent to bosses assistants.

Can someone think of a way of doing this?

I have to rule out outlook rules as we use a third party application to send e-mail, although it uses outlook as it's backbone it seems to ignore any rules!

Your help would be much appreciated.

automatically forwarding incoming is something u can perform noly by OL Rules, however you can set the auto forward for outgoing emails by going into the properties of the user - delivery tab - forward.

Also, if you want to have the option for having each email forwarded (incoming / outgoing) to some one else - my suggestion is to create a new store and have the mailbox (User A) moved into it and on the properties of the store - archiving option - specify User B.
