Hi,
I need to upgrade all Outlook 2000 users to Outlook 2003, but will only be availbale to do this when all staff have gone home. Now, unless I demand all users XP passwords, which wont happen how do I log into XP to upgrade. If I do as admin it does not hold the profile for the user when they logon! Is this possible via GP to auto install/upgrade Outlook 2000?
I know its a basic question but I am baffled!
Thanx
G

Look into software distribution via Group Policy.
Download the Office 2003 Res. Kit, run the custom install wizard, create a transform.
Create a new GPO on the computer account container, set domain computers and authenticated users read access, add your MSI and transform file to a new assigned software under computer->software.
You will also need to disable quick logon via group policy for the software push.
Test your deployment first of course using a test group, not the real computer container.

When the computers reboot, Outlook 2003 will install automagically and configure for each user when they log on. You can use pstools from sysinternals and some VB magic to reset all computers on your domain.
