I've been requested to add Web capability to my Exchange 2000, can anyone point me in the right direction to get started. An article? I would be most appreciative for the assistance.

You should already have it installed:
got http://your-server-name-goes-here/exchange

In Exchange 2000/3 OWA is a default component.

And when you have played with that, I would recommend you read the following 2 articles in order to get insight in how OWA 2000 works and how to make it secure by implementing SSL - Secure Socket Layer:

Configuring and Using OWA in Exchange 2000 Server

Securing Outlook Web Access using SSL

Thanks guys, just what I was looking for. I am able to log-in anywhere from our internal network but cannot across the WWW. We do not host our own website, I tried http://123.123.311.111/exchange and received the authentication screen but could not get beyond it. Any suggestions?

Does the Exchange Server have a public IP address ? If not you would need to create a NAT rule in your router in order to forward port 80 requests to the Exchange servers private IP address.
