I have a standard w2k LAN with 50 mail boxes using AD and Exchange 2003. I use ipmonitor to warn me when something is not responding and it is supposed to send email and pages when it finds something will not respond to a ping. Everything works fine, I get mail to my outside yahoo email account and the pages work fine to my cell phone but for some reason the messages to me locally are not getting thru our local exchange server. I have a standard BL setup from spamhaus. It appears that Exchange will not allow email if the sent from field is not correct. Ipmonitor allows you to put anything in the send from field and I have tried to use legitimate email addresses, fake addresses or stock setup which is no address in the from field, none will work to exchange but they all work to my yahoo account so I know that ipmonitor is functioning correctly. I tried to add a safe sender/reciever to exchange and match the address in ipmonitors sent from field but so far I cannot get this to work. It is a pretty standard email that ipmonitor sends using smtp to send from the server that ipmonitor is located on and as far as I can tell there is nothing setup to block any email except the BL from spamhaus, I have turned the BL off and that had no effect either. I am stumped! Anyone have any ideas?
