Hi everyone,

I recently migrated from Tobit David XL to MS Exchange 2003 and I am very happy with it - BUT: where Tobit simply sent the mail without asking, Exchange checks the receive limits on the remote server causing us major problems in sending image data to our customers who have receive limits but lack the technical skill to remove or increase them. So my question is: does anyone know of a way to make Exchange either not check or outright ignore the remote receive limit?

Thank you in advance from Hamburg
Eckehard

You want YOUR Exchange server, to actually FORCE another remote mail system to ignore it's own message size limits? No, NOTHING can do that for you.

Hi David,

not quite - I cannot explain it any better but it must be actual behavior of the Exchange server since the same counterparts previously accepted huge mails from us when we were still running Tobit David and now that mail is migrated to Exchange mails just don't go through.. and on a side note, they do go through from freemailers such as yahoo.com, hotmail.com and gmx.net so it seems to be our server that is either overly fussy or simply not working 100% - do you have any idea what may be causing this behavior or what I could do to resolve it?

Thanks in advance
Eckehard

please see my other post regarding improper NDRs - this still has me stumped but in fact I am suspecting the firewall might be the culprit... I have lots of WatchGuard skills but very little raw SMTP - can anyone provide pointers how to manually diagnose SMTP in a telnet session?
Thanks again
Eckehard
